Metalarredo at SICAM 2026: bringing light into furniture design

From October 20 to 23, 2026, Metalarredo will be back at SICAM Pordenone, Hall 7 | Stand B4, with a project focused on integrating light into furniture design.

In this blogpost, we take a closer look at what we will present at the show and how we see light as part of the design process, through customizable LED solutions, integrated systems and configurations developed for different spaces.

Four spaces to explore light at SICAM 2026

After introducing our illuminated boiserie at SICAM 2025, this year we have taken the project a step further, bringing it into four different spaces: Living, Kitchen, Bath and Night. These are not simply four different settings, but four ways of exploring how lighting can become part of furniture and interior design.

The boiserie becomes a system that brings together materials, surfaces, furniture and light, with configurations designed to enhance the characteristics of each space.

The aim is to show, in a practical way, how the same design concept can evolve depending on the space, how it is used and the needs of the people who experience it.

A customizable boiserie system

One of the main developments we will present at SICAM 2026 is the way we have further developed the boiserie project. For the show, we will introduce our new catalogue dedicated to the system, designed to offer two complementary ways of approaching the product.

The first is a selection of ready-made configurations: complete solutions that have already been designed and developed for different spaces. These are finished configurations, created to make it easier to present and integrate the system into an interior project.

Alongside these, the catalogue includes a section dedicated to the individual components of the system, which can be combined and customized according to the specific requirements of each project.

This combination reflects our approach: offering structured solutions without limiting design freedom. The boiserie can be adapted to different dimensions, materials, finishes and furniture characteristics, making it possible to develop different configurations around the needs of each project.

This means that a project can start from an existing configuration or from an idea developed together with the customer.

From boiserie to integrated lighting

The boiserie will be one of the main projects presented at SICAM, but it will not be the only way we will showcase our approach.

The stand will also feature surface-mounted and recessed LED profiles, shown in different applications to highlight their versatility.

The aim is not simply to display the products, but to show what they can do when they become part of a wider design: illuminating furniture elements, enhancing surfaces, integrating into structures and responding to different functional and aesthetic requirements.

For Metalarredo, an LED profile is part of a wider system. The choice of profile, LED strip, power supply and control solution needs to work together with both the design and the intended lighting effect.

A technical section dedicated to new LED solutions

Alongside the different spaces, SICAM 2026 will also be an opportunity to introduce a dedicated technical section, featuring some of the latest additions to our lighting systems.

The display will include new power supplies, new control solutions and new CSP LED strips, together with the other components needed to create integrated LED systems for furniture.

There is a clear reason for dedicating space to these products: a well-designed lighting solution is not only about what you see. It also depends on a range of technical components that need to work together seamlessly.

For furniture manufacturers, architects, designers and other industry professionals, this means being able to assess not only the look of a solution, but also the technical elements that make its integration into the project possible.

The bathroom: bringing light to the mirror

The bathroom will be one of the key spaces at our SICAM 2026 stand.

Alongside the boiserie, we will present several lighting solutions for mirrors, developed through different design approaches.

Some of these lamps were created in collaboration with designer Lorella Agnoletto and have now officially become part of the Metalarredo catalogue. They will be shown alongside solutions we have already introduced, such as A215K – Ril, the round mirror lamp, as well as three new lamps developed through our collaboration with the “G.B. Tiepolo” Academy of Fine Arts in Udine.

The three lamps are the result of a project developed by students from the Design 3 course, part of the Interior Design and Architecture degree programme, during the 2025/2026 academic year.

The students worked on the concepts, moodboards and technical drawings. Metalarredo then took these ideas further, developing the products to make them more appealing and, above all, suitable for industrial production.

This project is a good example of how we work: starting from an idea, developing it together and turning it into a tangible product.

From an idea to a product: being a design partner

his is the approach we want to bring to SICAM 2026. For us, developing a lighting solution means going beyond simply selecting a product from a catalogue.

In many projects, requirements come directly from the space itself: a specific dimension, a particular material or finish, a construction constraint or a specific opening system may call for a solution developed around the project.

That is why we work alongside our customers throughout the different stages of development, combining technical and manufacturing expertise to adapt existing solutions to the furniture and develop new configurations when needed.

This approach is particularly relevant for furniture manufacturers, but also for architects, interior designers and other professionals looking for a partner who can help turn an idea into a real solution.

Customization, in this sense, is not limited to aesthetics. It can involve dimensions, materials, finishes, components, integration methods and technical specifications.
